New York State and New York City laws require employers to take specific steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. These include:

  • Providing and monitoring employee training
  • Establishing written policies with grievance procedures
  • Giving employees official notice

At ny.gov/combating-sexual-harassment-workplace/employers, you can find more information about NY State requirements, including model policy examples. At nyc.gov/site/cchr/law/sexual-harassment-training.page, you can find more information about NYC requirements, and also access the 45-minute virtual training video that meets State and City annual training requirements.

ArtsPool provides compliance support by including the required notice and factsheet as attachments in the invitation email sent by CentrallyHR. If you would like additional support tracking annual training for your employees, your Workforce Administration Lead can help you manage this in the ArtsPool app. If you have further questions about complying with these requirements, please refer to the links provided above and/or consult with an employment advisor.
